Oh, I guess I didn't tell you guys in the last post but both Catero and Peggy have gone on vacation. They left both sweet_mom and I behind to blog so bare with us.

As you can see my room is still empty! I'm at a loss for inspiration. It's funny how a change in dynamic to the game can also change your mindset towards creativity.
A few of my friends were wondering how these expansions and additions will effect the creative look of the rooms. Suddenly to some the 8x8 size isn't as satisfying.

However.. for even more options Ameba has provided us with new cubes to play with

Just click on "shop", to shop the catalogue at the bottom of your screen.

As for me.. I'm still at a loss on how to decorate my tiny abode.

Room Expansions

Welcome to the latest edition of this old Pico House.
Pico has given us a rather hefty and productive updated. Our life on Pico has changed rather significantly. We can now have 1-4 rooms, and we can now also expand on how BIG our room can be!

To expand you can pay by either gummy or Ameba gold currency.

As you can see expanding your space makes QUITE the huge difference! (In case your wondering, this is Benry's Cafe. Come pay a visit).

To add addition rooms you need to pay the $5 for Ameba Gold

This is a little peek at how the room to room looks like. Now though these wallpaper and floor are the same, you can switch them up per room.

Pico has added a new variable for more depth to our regular game play. I wonder if you can hide away in the other room and pretend you're not home to wanted visitors?

In addition to these wonderful home editions, they've released some posh new furniture. Some that you've probably always wanted.

First is our NYC broad on Broadway. We asked her "yo, what's new in NYC?", and that's when she showed us her new window panes.

Now if you're looking for something a little closer to nature, we head to Sleep Elijah in the Flea Market.
What does he have?

Ever wonder why Elijah is always so sleepy? My little hippy friend does enjoy the grass.
Wait what? I meant grass carpeting! Finally a carpet you don't mind your dog peeing on. How eco-friendly.

Pico: A mom's perspective ... continues

Written by sweet_mom

sweet_mom meets KrazyKandi (taken by sweet_mom)I make it a commitment to travel to the Stone Age era at least once a week and contribute with my Volcano Dance in hopes of helping those who go in search of the dino to gain their star.

However yesterday's visit turned out to be one of the most memorable moments I had experienced here in Pico.

Like a ray of sunshine, wearing a yellow dress, thirteen-year-old KrazyKandy from Illinois, USA, cheerfully approached me. She had recognized me from my first Picostyle post and greeted me with a big smile.

"Really cool!! and awsome to meet u!!" she said to me. Her enthusiasm left me speechless and I wondered ... 'Am I really worthy of such loving admiration?'

After visiting with her, meeting some of her friends, and taking a picture together, she proceeded to say, "I think it wud be cool to have my mom play Pico." That's when I realized she had truly understood and appreciated my article. Then I was overwhelmed with gratitude.

My sweet girl, you are truly an inspiration and it is my greatest honor to have met you, and I'll conclude by saying ... KrazyKandy is the perfect example of what a true Pico is all about!

The only thing I was super pleased about was retaining my physical safety after meeting this malfunctioning Robo Lady. Aye Caramba, dude.

Profiles #12

Girls, girls, girls. That's what this Profiles is all about. Eccentric, delusional little cutesy-poo girls.

(1) We suggest that someone can't really be independent, if they can't actually spell the word correctly.

Maybe she's not ready for 4 syllable words yet.
Profiles #12

(2) Putting aside the usual attraction to fire and brimstone, demons this season will be adorned in pink from head to toe. Can you dig it?

(3) Someone with a very noble moniker and 68 buddies is hated by "everyone". Why would that be? Three words: emo world view.

(4) Werewolves always look most menacing in frilly bikinis. Don't you think?

This self-proclaimed lycanthrope is sweet, friendly and fun. A stark contrast to the centuries-old raging nocturnal beast with an insatiable bloodlust.

Can a tween rewrite hundreds of years of savage Wolfman mythology with fashionable blue swimwear? We think not.

Have you taken a screenshot of an interesting Pico/Pigg profile that you would like to appear here on picostyle? Send it to us  at with:
  • your caption
  • your Pico/Pigg name
  • your blog (if you have one)
If it's cute, funny or downright 'WTF?' we'll post it and give you full credit!

If the profile screenshot you submit is in a non-English language (e.g. Bahasa, Japanese, Thai, etc.) that you speak please provide the English translation.

Pico: A mom's perspective

sweet_mom's mermaid jig

Written by sweet_mom

What is this "Pico thing" I hear my 14 year old daughter so excitedly talk about? As a concerned parent, I joined Pico with the only intention of monitoring its content for safety precautions, and in the process I too found myself intrigued by this wonderful virtual world.

I am totally fascinated with what Ameba Pico has to offer its members. Not only the chance to meet people from all around the world and learn from their different cultures, but the opportunity to actually befriend them and see how our "Buddy List" keeps growing everyday. Also, the excitement of earning daily "Gummies" all while having fun getting those props, rings, food, and playing games (which I might add I never win).

Though at the beginning some Picos found it strange that I, a real mom, would dare enter this virtual world to the extent of leaving me messages and letters of cruel matter, most recieved me with open Pico arms.

Isn't Pico big enough for us moms? And why not even grandmas? The answer is yes!

Pico is a great place to share with anyone that wants to join for the right reason: friendships!

You are not alone.

Attention Michael Jackson fans. Do you find yourself wallowing in pity, still mourning for the King of Pop? Well Michael's back in town.. or at least, the Ghost of MJ is!

After our choreographed dance in the park, I asked MJ if he had anything to say to his fans who miss him;

Thank you Ghost of MJ.

Ameba, please help!

Peggy is pleading for a lil bit of love.

Ameba why?! This is every Pico's worst nightmare. Well, maybe not every Pico's, but definitely a concern of the Picostyle team! This error message is distrupting Pico residents from visiting their favorite spots and some Picos can't even access their own rooms - Gem Rock being one of them. If you're suffering from room lock-out you're not the only one. It's gotten so bad that fellow blogger Catmid has gone as far as to leave apologetic room board messages saying please don't fret if you can't get into her room. I know it's irritating but hopefully all bugs will be fixed on Monday. Ameba! You need a weekend crew. Just saying.

Learning to swim at Sparking Ocean

How to swim - beach to water to island

The Aloha spirit has taken over Pico at a fevered pace. Colorfully dressed Picos are everywhere, sporting their hibiscus hair flowers or patterned board shorts. Loco moco. Hula. Friendly dolphins. Fire dancing.

Those who are new to the world of Pico have not yet experienced the "swing of things" and may need a little help getting their feet wet, so to speak.

When I visit Sparkling Ocean I see Picos hopelessly wandering the beach begging people to help them figure out how to swim.

It's not very clear how you get from walking on the beach to floating in the water, but it's fairly simple ... if you've got a spare token in your pocket.

To swim and get a floatie you need a swimsuit. So, let's get started.

Once you've landed on the little sliver of shoreline in the Sparking Ocean room ...

How to swim - click on Ricky/Shop1. Head over to Ricky, the surfer with the word Shop floating over his head and click on him

2. In the shop menu that pops up after clicking on Ricky, purchase a swimsuit using your Token (or Ameba Gold). Look at the bikinis for girls and the board shorts for boys to see your options.

Don't know if you have a Token? Look at the bottom of the shop menu.

If your Token amount is 0, you can't buy a swim suit right now. Wait to get your Daily Scratch Token and return to Sparkling Beach. In the meantime, why not enjoy Sunset Beach?

3. Once you've bought your swimsuit, click on your Closet button to put it on. Poof! Your other clothes disappear (don't worry, once you take off the swimsuit they re-appear). Click Save.

4. Voila! You're in your swimsuit and floatie. Click on the water to enjoy a dip in Sparkling Ocean or to head over to the island and meet Ka-lena who has more shop goodies to buy.

Profiles #11

We were very excited to get 2 reader submissions to Profiles this week. We like reader submissions. Why? Because the photos and captions get sent our way and we just have to press the 'Publish' button.

So, thank you, Єlena Gilbert and pineepineapple for making our lives just a little easier and potentionally bringing a smile or a giggle to the faces of many others.

(1) Hikui, Pico is nothing without you either, darling. NEVER LEAVE US!.
Profiles #11

(2) Catero had the misfortune of meeting this ungodly Pico.

She can't really mess you up physically and/or emotionally as she professes. Regardless, memorize her face and name and avoid at all costs to save yourself the trouble.

(3) "What's with all the crazy Picos?

I mean, really, you AREN'T in my heart. You AREN'T my shadow. And if you're playing Pico you AREN'T dead!

Think before you post stuff in your Profile... Just saying."

— Submitted by Єlena Gilbert

A note from Catero and Peggy: Maybe she is trying her hand at being poetic and profound? We dunno.

(4) "Better dont talk to her 'cause she's never in a mood to talk ... or else she will let you down just like Gacha. Actually, I'm not really sure what she means, but it's okay. I'm sure she's a loner."

— Submitted by pineepineapple

Profiles #10

It's been a while, but Profiles is back with more humor, sarcasm and wit brought to you by Pico citizens who place unusual, bizarre and often profound thoughts in their profiles!

Today's bunch have very assertive personalities and they're not afraid to let you know it.

(1) Cameron, if you're over 27 years of age, Peggy is interested. Send her a letter in Pico and let the non-vampire, non-lycan romance begin.

If, however, you are a "tween", and out of her age range she would like to offer her condolences ... because your list of don'ts are pretty much all the things that girls your age are gaga over these days.
Profiles #10

(2) We know you're trying to be funny and express yourself, but David Suzuki - though a world-renowned scientist and environmentalist - is not a personality that the average person knows about. Come back as a comical parody of David Letterman (buck teeth, FTW) and then we can talk.

Also, David Suzuki has grey hair. Attention to detail counts. Despite this discrepancy, Peggy still wants to pet your dyed hair job ... and she doesn't care what Catero says.

Peggy swoons, "I rike environmental men", then suggests she would also like you as a Pico Michio Kaku.

(3) Dear Maiia,

I like spankings too but maybe it's a bit TMI before you've even been asked on a first date. Maybe you somehow hint that you've got a kinky side. Boys like the chase ... in fact, they love it.

(4) Romeo, despite the fact that you use "retarded" in your Pico name, we like the cut of your jib. You have wooed us with your Romeo nature by your no nonsense approach to life. We like that. But we encourage you to consider giving girls who wear pink a second chance. We can't forgive CAPS, but we will forgive soothing color palettes.

Pico Cribs #12

Aloha! Everyone visit the new Hawaii areas yet? If you haven't you should because it's fabulous and doesn't require a time machine!

Gem, Catero and I have caught a severe case of island fever and I thought it would only be fitting to feature a simple cafe to escape to when the sun gets too hot. Your hostess, the lovely lady in the white hat will woo you in Thai and serve you nice cold drinks in pineapple cups. This Hawaiian-Thai Cafe will have you seeing red and who knows... flirt with the bartender and you might get lucky! He's pretty cute.

Come visit and don't worry... dancing on the tables is permitted. Even James, my puppy hopped on board.

Men's Fashion Week

Greetings Party Picos!
Normally when we feature street style.. our focus is usually on the female form. However, here I can prove men can act as a clothes horse too. I scouted all of Pico and shot only the most crazy and innovative of styles.

Of course if we were to vote a #1 male style icon, I'd still have to vote for Catero!

kotenko: the cutest Pico?

kotenko - the cutest Pico?

Gem and Peggy have a little competition when it comes to the cute factor in Pico.

I saw Kotenko yesterday at Nakamise St. and she had the cutest eclectic style ... so, I had to take a photo to share with you all. Camo pants with red pumps? You can tell she's a bit of a dancehall queen at heart.

It's Saturday night and I like the way you mooove..

The one thing about Pico is that, it's provided me with some fantastic new friends.
When I log in to see these people; I know I'm guaranteed some great laughs. Even on a on a slow night at home, like tonight! Without friends, and without fans .. Picostyle would be nothing. Thanks for jammin'! Rock on picostylers !

Profiles #9

As you can see, we didn't feel as though the bad boys here deserved our props. But ... a fairytale world wouldn't give us material for Profiles, where we take advantage of the bizarre nature of what Pico players feel they should include in their profiles.

This week we're making the statement that saying mean or degrading things for no reason against people you don't even know just 'aint cool with us.

(1) You can't claim to rape someone's wife and then pretend to be sweet.

It's like joking about pushing someone out a window of the World Trade Center on 9/11 as it was crumbling and using their body as a parachute to save your own skin.

It's just not funny for any reason.

Peggy also wants to let everyone know stealing someone's fried chicken is not okay.
Profiles# 9

(2) Johnny, you're fired.

First, we don't care who think you are.

Second, replace "bitch" with "please" and we'll consider it. Good manners will get you far in life.

Third, we will not prop you, bitch. How do you like them apples?

(3) How many MILFs do you really expect to find in a population that's largely prepubescent?

(4) We think this is a flawed attempt at organized crime in Pico that's full of fail.

You're in the wrong profession, Teod'z, especially because a huge fad in Pico right now is "twinning" oneself. So, kill Peggy once, kill Peggy twice and then wait for Peggy 3.0 to appear.

Also ... how do you expect to get paid for your services?
