Celebrity Sightings: For Kicks Edition

Since Pinkerton has been busy and missing-in-action for some time, I decided to pick up his torch and move on with another instalment of Celebrity Sightings - mainly because ZEON ♥(´ε` ) took the time to send us some of his own sightings and I didn't want to let his efforts go unseen.

Today, we feature three well-known "killer" personalities who will either kill you with their cuteness, humor, or plain ol' butt kickery.

Pucca
Photo submitted by ZEON ♥(´ε` )
Celebrity Sightings: Pucca
Captured in one of the rare moments that she was not trying to steal a kiss from the object of her affection, Garu, this Pucca lookalike sports the iconic "dango" hairstyle of the original cutie.

Pucca is a Korean internet sensation that has won over audiences all over the world with her sweet, silent disposition - not to mention her tendency to inadvertently one-up her crush, Garu, when battling for a precious kiss.

In a similar fashion, Pico's PUCCA™ won over hearts when she visitied World Community Parks wearing her signature red clothing, leaving only the unanswered question of 'Where is Garu?'.

Russell Brand

Celebrity Sightings: Russell Brand
It's literally impossible to capture the wit, weirdness and sheer WTF that is Russell Brand. He's multi-talented - an actor, author, columnist, comedian, radio and television presenter, singer and father of the bizarre bird nest hairstyle.

The Pico known as Russel Brand<3 makes a valiant attempt, even adopting Brand's gothic Willy Wonka fashion sense ... but spellsg his name wrong (there are 2 l's in Russell, darling).

With Russell's larger-than-life personality, it's no wonder that park-goers flocked around him, just trying to get close to the electrifying "Mr. Katy Perry".

I just hope that Russel Brand<3 doesn't try to duplicate some of the unsavoury parts of his namesake's troubled past.

"Alice" from Resident Evil
Celebrity Sightings: Alice from Resident Evil
Having escaped from the Umbrella Corporation with a few cuts and scratches - and a severely sweaty dress - Resident Evil's Alice takes a stroll in the park, on the look-out for errant mutants to slay.

Wearing her Red Hero dress and black combat boots (as worn in the Resident Evil: Apocalypse film), Resident:อลิซ pulled out an array of weapons - just like the fictional Alice - though a Heckler & Koch MP5K submachine guns were nowhere to be seen.

Hopping around the room she engaged other Picos in martial arts and other combat manoeuvres in an attempt to weed out the "goodies" from the "baddies".

Be careful when you come across her, Picos. She armed, dangerous and - most deadly - is probably just as poor an actress as Mila Jovovich.

Celebrity Sightings #6: Corporate Mascots Edition

Okay, before we go any further with this new installment of Celebrity Sightings, I want to address the elephant in the room: Dumbo, please excuse yourself for a moment. Alright, since that is out of the way, allow me to address the question that might be on your mind: "what do you mean by corporate mascots?!" Well, it's no secret that large corporations go out of their way to create many different ways to connect with their customers and, as a result, further sell their brand. One way it's done is through friendly, often anthropomorphic characters to represent the company and its ideals. You see them on cereal boxes, billboards, TV ads, and now they are even in Pico.

Ronald-McDonald

Ronald McDonald

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Ronald McDonald is one of the most recognizable corporate mascots in the world. In fact, I'm sure there are some fancy studies and actual numbers to back that up... but for now you can just take my word for it. I first ran into this joyful clown a few months ago, and in my excitement I managed to take a picture of his house.

ronald house

I'm sure a certain king of burgers would be offended by the house, but I was lovin' it! I didn't see him around for quite some time after this, but just a couple weeks ago I spotted him again and went to pay his room a visit. His business seems to have expanded significantly since the last time I was there.

He also has a 2nd room now:

Celebrity Sightings #5

I know what you are thinking. "Pinkerton, you still didn't shave?" Besides that, though, I know you've also been thinking "Pinkerton, why are you taking such a long time between Celebrity Sightings updates?!" You can rest assured that I am not losing interest, though, but rather giving these updates some breathing room. The particular photos below have been sitting around for a while, so now it's finally time for me to publish and sell them to various Pico news agencies. Just be aware that I'm raising the price to 500 AG for each picture.

will-smith_0

will smith 2

Will Smith

"AWWWWWWW HELL NAW"! Not the most thought-provoking quote for a movie star, but it's one that defines this charismatic actor. Watch a few of his movies and this is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down. Sorry about that. What I meant to say was... watch a few of his movies, and you are sure to hear him yell that out at one point or another. His charisma just seeps through, even in Pico form.

will smith
will smith 3

But the Pico-ized version isn't exactly keen on giving out autographs. Ask him for one, and you are bound to be met with a very hostile demand.

will smith 4

Pay you for an autograph? To that I say, AWWWW HELL NAW.

dora-the-explorer

Dora the Explorer

I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map. I'M THE MAP. Even though I never watched the show, that one particular song will always be ingrained into the back of my mind after seeing a clip of it.

Dora

Dora is always going on adventures in her show while teaching kids Spanish along the way, but I think her one sole purpose on Pico is to constantly remind me of the map. POR QUE?!

PD*11707646

Hugh Hefner

I understand that having someone like Hugh Hefner in the same update as Dora the Explorer is like putting peanut butter and tuna together on bread, but I had to mention him sooner or later! While it was difficult to take a picture of him without his... er, lady friends... I managed to quickly snap one of him dancing alone before he went back to party at his mansion.

hefner

He may be an old man, but women still love him.

Celebrity Sightings: Disney Edition

Disney Castle copy

Disney. Just saying the word can flood your mind with feelings of joy and fond memories. That is unless you have no soul. You do have a soul, don't you? Anyways, whether it be from going to one of the many theme parks around the world or simply watching one of Disney's movies, chances are you have a good understanding of how inspiring the characters are. Everyone has a favorite, and there's no better place to show off your inner Disney fandom than on Pico. I've come across many of these "celebrities" whilst venturing around, as well as some great rooms inspired by certain Disney characters. Without further ado, here are a few of them!

snow-white-seven-dwarfs

Snow White. This is probably the single most impersonated character I've seen on Pico (don't forget about the Snow White Premium Gacha!), and with good reason. It was Disney's first full-length animated movie. Not only that, but it literally changed the landscape of what hand-drawn animation was at the time. We owe a lot to this movie for that alone, never mind the timeless characters and songs to go along with it.

Celebrity Sightings: Halloween Edition

Celebrity Sightings - Halloween

As promised, here's a brand new installment of Celebrity Sightings! Because of the time of year and everything that has been going on in Pico lately, I couldn't help but do a Halloween-inspired edition. If you weren't in the mood for the holiday before, this might kick your spirit into gear. However, if you are easily frightened or don't care much for Halloween/horror movies, you might want to look away. Just remember to lock your doors and shut all the windows tonight...

Still with me? Good. Put your eyeballs back into your sockets and take a look at a few of the more 'unconventional' celebrities I've recently spotted.

juon21b

Ju-on. The phrase alone may evoke a chill in some people. It roughly translates to "the grudge" or "the curse" in Japanese, and it's also the title for a successful series of horror films released in... wait for it... Japan. However, outside of Japan, many people might better know it as "The Grudge" due to the US remake. See? It all makes sense.

juon

I've run into Ju-on in Pico many times before, but it took me a while to actually get a picture of her. Why? She never stays in one spot for too long. Just as you approach her, she usually takes off to another area. Creepy, you say? Yes, very creepy. But if you are lucky enough to get close:

JUON 2

You'll see that she is quite friendly! Or maybe that's what she wants you to believe...

Celebrity Sightings: Music Edition

What time is it? Nope, it's not Adventure Time. It's time for another installment of Celebrity Sightings! This week is going to be a bit different. Last time on Celebrity Sightings, we saw a couple avatars that fell under the "unconventional celebrities" list. This week, though, we will be seeing nothing but actual entertainers. Well-known entertainers, at that. And to top it off, I will be showcasing more than 3 profiles. So, let's begin!

This is it. Remember what I said last week about Mario being one of the most beloved video game characters? Well, replace "Mario" with "Michael Jackson" and "video game character" with "pop idol/musical genius," and you will almost have a decent comparison to work with. I can't even begin to describe how essential Michael Jackson was to music. He pushed boundaries, broke records and made people think twice about what it truly meant to be an artist. If one person ever defined the word "entertainer," it was him. There's no surprise, then, that his fanbase is one of the largest for any musician. Ever. As such, the love for him is constantly shown in Pico...

Celebrity Sightings

Hello, fellow Pico denizens! Pinkerton here (finally!) with what will hopefully turn into an ongoing installment on PicoStyle.

Now, I have a question for you. What comes to mind when I say "PAPARAZZI." No, no. Stop singing that song. Yes, I know it's a funny word! But the answer I was looking for was celebrities. Yes, celebrities. Love them, hate them, feel indifferent towards them... there's no denying that they make the world go 'round. They provide us with hours of entertainment, whether it be in the form of acting, singing, dancing, or just completely losing their collective minds and giving people plenty of gossip to talk about. It was only a matter of time, then, that Pico would be greeted by some of them! If you don't have a keen eye, chances are you might've missed a few. No need to worry, though. That's why I am here.

The purpose of this is to showcase 3 or 4 celebrities with each update. You will notice that, while there are "conventional" celebrities (music artists, movie actors, etc.), there will also be some more... well, "unconventional" celebrities. What do I mean by this? Keep reading and you will shortly find out.

Do do do do-do DO do. Everyone that has played a video game at least once in their life should know this theme song by heart. The Mario Bros. franchise is perhaps the most recognized & beloved video game franchise to this day, and with good reason. To say that Mario and his friends are not "celebrities" in some sense is like saying we don't need air to survive* (*apologies to our underwater subscribers for this comment). But the love for Mario on Pico doesn't stop at the avatars. I've come across a couple rooms in which the owners decided to pay tribute to Mario by creating their very own 8-Bit characters entirely out of blocks! Sadly, I was in such awe that I did not take a screenshot. If you ever happen to see them, let me know!

obama

Yes we can. That message says it all. Obama, the 44th President of the United States, was spotted in Pico recently by our very own Gem! Here, he was giving her a speech about change. Now, I'm not sure if by "change" he meant currency (gummies?) or if he was possibly trying to give her some advice on changing her wardrobe... but when he talks, he is far too charismatic for me to care about what he is saying. After this, I'm looking forward to finding an Abraham Lincoln in Pico with his trademark tophat and beard. Can this happen? Yes it can.

pico liberty

Freedom or DIE. Well, what else can I say about this? The Statue of Liberty is a National Monument, for crying out loud! Besides croissants and crepes, it's probably the best thing to come from France. And who could've ever guessed that the Statue of Liberty could be so trendy with glasses and a skirt on? I mean, I might've thought about it once or twice, but I did not expect to ever see it. Oh, and for the guys... I think she's single!

And there you have it, folks! The update was short & sweet this time around, but you can expect plenty more where that came from. Next week, be on the lookout for a music edition of Celebrity Sightings. Until then, take care Pico friends!

Have you seen a celebrity on Pico? Did you get a chance to take your camera out in time and grab some snapshots? If so, send them to picostylers@gmail.com and they might appear here!

You are not alone.

Attention Michael Jackson fans. Do you find yourself wallowing in pity, still mourning for the King of Pop? Well Michael's back in town.. or at least, the Ghost of MJ is!

After our choreographed dance in the park, I asked MJ if he had anything to say to his fans who miss him;

Thank you Ghost of MJ.
