Celebrity Sightings: Disney Edition

Disney Castle copy

Disney. Just saying the word can flood your mind with feelings of joy and fond memories. That is unless you have no soul. You do have a soul, don't you? Anyways, whether it be from going to one of the many theme parks around the world or simply watching one of Disney's movies, chances are you have a good understanding of how inspiring the characters are. Everyone has a favorite, and there's no better place to show off your inner Disney fandom than on Pico. I've come across many of these "celebrities" whilst venturing around, as well as some great rooms inspired by certain Disney characters. Without further ado, here are a few of them!

snow-white-seven-dwarfs

Snow White. This is probably the single most impersonated character I've seen on Pico (don't forget about the Snow White Premium Gacha!), and with good reason. It was Disney's first full-length animated movie. Not only that, but it literally changed the landscape of what hand-drawn animation was at the time. We owe a lot to this movie for that alone, never mind the timeless characters and songs to go along with it.

ANIMALITY!

That picture pretty much sums up my feelings regarding the latest update to hit Pico. Last night I was speculating what the maintenance could possibly be for. Between the higher-ups at Pico finally taking our suggestions and the Halloween decorations finally being taken down, my mind was running wild as to what they had in store for us next. Would there be more fall clothing? More fall decorations for our rooms? Maybe some Thanksgiving-inspired objects for the upcoming holiday? Fishing? Adoptable PENGUINS?! Yes, Pigg now has adoptable penguins. I went to sleep with these thoughts in my mind. However, when I awoke...

I was greeted by that message. My hopes and dreams were shattered. Could this possibly be true? Was I still dreaming? No, no... this was all too real. I was already smelling the burning torches of angry P.E.T.A (Picos for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) members marching in unison to protest this update. But, anyways, if you are interested in these items there are two different ways to go about getting them:

1. Daily Gacha

There are a handful of animal pattern decorations to win, as well as a rare cow plush. I couldn't help myself but at least try to win some items out of curiosity. In the process, I won a Zebra Print Comfy Rug, Soft Dalmatian Print Cushion, Giraffe Print Tissue Box and a token. So, hey, at least I won a token!

2. Rinarina's Shop

Rinarina

She asked me if I could "feel the vibe of the city." The only thing I could feel was my heart breaking with what I was about to do next.

Men's:

Woman's (includes what is shown here, as well as everything the men have):

Now, because some of you may be curious as to what these items look like when being worn (or maybe you just needed a good laugh), I decided to throw away my dignity and try the clothing on via the preview function. What you are about to see may shock you:

Still there? Okay, good. Hopefully I will never have to model like that again. Before I go, today's update reminded me of a scathing yet hilarious update that Catero made nearly 6 months ago. Click here to read it.

"Funkadelic animal prints are an abomination against God's law." Amen.

How-to: Using your Pigg Blog

I've been wanting to use my Ameba Pigg blog for ages and by ages I mean since I opened my Pigg account in April. Sadly, the lack of fluent English speakers and my very bad Japanese (I don't speak any), communication has been a no-go. Thankfully, Saiya was able to get her friend Uverkuu to walk me through it. Uverkuu! You are so awesome!

Anyway! Personally, I would just use Google Chrome because it will translate the Japanese text on the Ameba Pigg website into whatever language you pick. I wished I had thought about this sooner but erm, I dropped the ball -cries- ...but since the tabs cannot be translated and for whatever reason when you first run the Ameba Pigg page it does not always pop up the function asking you if you want the page translated so here goes!

1. Open up your Ameba Pigg Homepage. Once logged in it should look something like the images below.

Pigg.

2. Click on the tab I've circled in the above image, that will take you to your blog post page. But let's revisit this in a minute cause I know you guys want to make your Pigg blog pretty first :P

Editing Blog Information

Pigg.

3. Clicking on the text circled above your user name in the green bar will allow you to personalise your blog's details. If you're using Google Chrome this is what you will see:

*Click on the image to view larger version

Use this image to fill out the appropriate information it calls for if you're not using Google Chrome and if you want to enable YouTube embedding remember to tick that function. Leave everything else as is and scroll all the way to the bottom and click the button to save.

Changing Your Blog's Layout

4. Refer back to the second image, click on the other circled text. That link will take you to this page:

Pigg.

Frankly, you can click on any of those links in the above image to pick a layout for your blog. I've specifically circled the one I did because it shows you all of them. Some layouts will cost money but there are plenty that are free.

Pigg.

Pick one and you're ready to blog!

How To Blog

5. Okay, go back to Step 2 and click on the tab to pull up this page:

Pigg.

There's just a few more things I want to tell you guys in case you're not using Google Chrome (seriously, why aren't you using Google Chrome?).

How to Publish Your Entry

6. Scroll all the way to the bottom of that page and you will see three buttons:

Pigg.

(From left to right)

First Button: Save Draft
Second Button: Post Friends Only
Third Button: Public Post

This was where I epic failed the first time I tried to blog back in April... I kinda just saved draft cause I guessed! Now you won't make the same mistake :P Keep in mind once you've published a post, if you get text in blue it was successful and if you get text in red there was an error.

How To Add An Image To Your Entry

7. Lastly, if you want to include an image in your blog entry click on the link shown below:

Pigg.

From there it's pretty self explanatory. Pigg blogging looks really fun and from what I can see while playing Pigg is that the Japanese really enjoy it. Ayuhime and I are going to give it a try, you should too!

Hagu, Fall & The Ora-Bora and Peggy Hill Love Connection.

Hagu. Hagu. Hagu.
Ora18 & Peggy @ Hagu's room.

Halloween is over but for those who will mourn it's passing, you can visit Hagu's room because this lovely lady is keeping it alive for us in her second room. She continues to be one of my favorite interior designers in Pico. The few Halloween items cleverly set out on display on the bold green checkered floor warms my heart!

Speaking of heart warmers, Fall, at least for me (maybe I'm biased because it's my favorite season), is the season for love. I know most of you will argue it's Spring that brings out all the love bugs and such... but you all know I'm right! Hot chocolate, getting tangled in winter scarves, getting fat together as you stuff yourselves silly... C'mon! Feel ittt----- feel the loveeee!

This being MY season of love, I thought I'd give a shout out to one of my favorite young ladies in Pico, Miss Ora18. Ora-Bora... you're the sweetest. -Sigh- I'm such a fangirl for Fall and there's only a few more weeks of it. I purposely left out pictures of Hagu's first room because I want you to GO VISIT IT. I secretly think that Hagu is also a fan of my favorite season, want proof? Visit Hagu's room :P

I'll leave you guys with a song and my over zealous anticipation of Ameba Pico's November 4th Scheduled Server Maintenance... they are asking me to, "Please wait with anticipation." Ameba, I'm over zealously waiting in anticipation... don't disappoint. -whispers- Hello Kitty...

Have your say

Help Us Improve Pico with this Survey

Over the past few months it has seemed - to me at least - that the developers of Pico are sleeping. Do they really know what their players want?

Surprisingly, I logged on yesterday to find that Pico has harnessed the power of Google form surveys. And they want to know what we think! It nearly took my breath away.

When you log into Pico, click on the line of text in your Information menu that I have highlighted in the photo above in blue.

[2010/01/02 Edit: Since yesterday, the link to the survey on the Information menu has been removed. Click here to go to the survey]

Would you like to share what you'd like to see changed or added in Pico? Please comment below and share your thoughts with us.

Finally some of our Rant Week peeves put to good use. The Picostyle team shares their Pico wish lists with you ...

New items and other things ♪

Well Halloween is (almost) over, but Ameba hasn't stopped with putting out new items to torture me to keep everyone happy.
If you haven't noticed already, there are new football and cheer leading clothes and actions! You can find them in the high school gym when you speak to Coach McCallister or head over to the new Football Field in the park area!

Yay! Here are the items for both men and women. Surprisingly, many of the items are available for token. Woop! That should be relieving for those who have been feeling excluded lately from gold exclusive items.

Don't those look great? Don't worry if you can't afford the outfits. Cheering in a kimono looks really cute! See? Me and my friend Alice★Terrorist (アリス★VRテロリスト) were practicing our cheer routine with our friend Ayuboy (あゆボイ 「AYUBOY 」) as a coach, when someone mysterious showed up....

Isn't he frightening!? Alice and I were both a little scared, but Ayuboy was brave. He confronted his Pico, whose username is ASSHOL E. Sorry kids, I'm just reporting his name! But really, all he wanted was to dance! This Pico is very nice, despite his offensive username. We all ended up chatting in broken English (he is Japanese) and dancing together. It shows that you can't make judgments based on looks! (hint hint to all you people to host "hot or not" parties!)

Oh! And one last thing! Did everyone notice that Ameba has put out a survey? It was only available for one day it seems... I hope you got to put in your opinion!
For me, I submitted that I think they should expand the closet capacity from 300... per Peggy's gripe because I am starting to reach that capacity myself... EEK! I also mentioned that I really wanted to be able to trade items with Pico friends such as clothing and furniture. Hopefully they will listen to me!

What did you put for suggestions? I'd really like to know!

PS: I'd like to say HI to ICEonFire! He is a fan who wrote to me to say that he reads our blog EVERY DAY! Yay!!

Lots of love,
Ayuhime xoxoxo
