Pico Cribs #2

1 2 3
4Wow. Saory's three leveled themed Tropical Room is killer. Can I move in with you? Completely fabulous is what this room is! I think I'll just have to pop in every now and then to work on my suntan and swim in your pool <3 Maybe... I'll even sneak over a few friends when you're away and serve them drinks on your second floor. A gin and tonic for you and scotch on the rocks for me ;x I LOVE THIS!

5 Okay. I have slight beef with Pico now. HOW DID THIS PERSON MANAGE TO WIN SO MANY BASKETS OF FRUITS AND I'VE GOT NOT A SINGLE ONE?! -cries large pools of tears- There must be SOME secret word or something! Anywho! This room is too kawaii.. Tiger minus the lions and bears but that's okay cause it's got this cool elevator tree that takes you to the second and third levels which houses two cozy sitting areas for intimate chats about you know... intimate stuff. I can't remember the name of the person who designed this but I will furiously search Pico to find this room again and let you know! Whoever did this spared no attention to detail. Her tiger even has a bow!

Stay tuned for the next edition of PICO CRIBS!! Peace Out.

Pico Cribs #1

Me-love-you-long-time kawaii lover and my fellow blog contributor Peggy has inspired me to appreciate the thought and creativity behind the use of blocks in room decor (she happens to be a Lego fetishist).

Starting out with a room that leans more towards suave rather than sweet, I discovered the perfect bachelor pad. Neutral, minimalist and stylish with a focus on sleep and personal entertainment. What more could one want? It's so cozy!

All it needs for me to feel completely at home is a wet bar stacked with all my favorite colorful bottles.

Owner: Hellios

I Cry!

I love this.
Gacha got you down? Take it from me, this isn't the month to be playing unless you're looking for blocks, into pirate gear or wanting those half barrel chairs in every color imaginable. After spending over 10,000 Gummies it's safe to ask, "Pico! Why you bein' so stingy??!" I have yet to win a token or any of the cute things pictured on the Gacha info page like the Caribbean luggage or baskets of fruit. :-(

Bring back the TVs! Give us a token every once in a while. -whines- That's what we really want! I want to buy a dance (requires 1 token or Ameba Gold) but I'm not going to waste anymore gummies on Gacha even though Pico is telling me that our chances of getting a token is higher because of the Gacha Campaign. True, 100 Gummies a go is definitely a plus (it normally costs 300 Gummies) but it's not really worth it if they're going to be super stingy. Most of the time I'm receiving 1x food items and I'm hearing that you guys are too. :-(

So for now let us all save our Gummies and hope for better Gacha days and just buy what we want. I've got my eye on this jacket. <3 Peace Out.

The Cooler Side Of Pico

Baby Jesus.Peggy here, reporting to you live from Ameba Pico!

Where I have just bumped into Baby Jesus! It's good to know that such a good man is on Pico... so you single ladies be on the look out! He's available -wink-

Anywho, now that Cat has gotten all the boring things out of the way. I'm here to report the cooler side of Pico... like how it's all about the blocks and how gacha right now is screwing us mucho and how I saw Baby Jesus making kissy emotes at BOTH Susie and Sally... !!

Wanna know more? Stay tuned as all shall be revealed in my next installment!

On to PICO CRIBS where only the best will shine and cryin' won't get you anywhere.

:O
So like I was sayin' it's all about the blocks. These Pico inhabitants have really gone block happy and I give them mad props for their design work and creativity. Mama Peggy approves!

Hint: Buying blocks cost 200 Gummies per block. Yeah ... rip off! But right now try your chances with Gacha ... it's only 100 Gummies per go and I've been collecting my block collection this way. But don't count on getting blocks every time (the draw is random) and if you're looking for a specific color you're better off just paying the 200 Gummies.

Hello Kitty!
Hello Kitty Shrine? Yes ... I can dig it.

I want to do this.
Vincent Van Gogh approves too!

I promise to keep you guys up to date on all the juicy bits but right now I better go max out on Gummies. We only have til the 8th of April til props, etc. goes back to normal and we're only able to collect 400 Gummies versus the 1000!!! WORK THE STREETS. Earn those Gummies!!!

Peace Out.

How-to: a simple guide to Ameba Pigg commands

Curiosity wins again as I infiltrate Ameba Pigg and learn that you can use the same commands as Pico, but with different words that trigger them. A few words are English, most are Romanji.

Pigg seems to have 3 more commands than Pico. Namely, rock-paper-scissors. And two less. It does not seem to include kissy lips or thumb's up.

Type the following commands into your chat to get some funky results ...

Icons:

/choki

I ♥ Pigg Too

I decided to be adventurous today and check out Ameba Pigg, the Japanese-language social avatar community that Pico is based on.

Not knowing any Japanese whatsoever I relied on the built-in Google Translate function of my Google Chrome browser to decipher enough of the site's content to be able to register. It wasn't great the greatest.

Adding to the ease of registering is the visual consistency (e.g. the tutorial at first login) between the Japanese- and English-language versions.

After an hour or so of browsing around I sincerely hope that Pico developers eventually grow the community to be as content-filled as Pigg.

Pigg is like Pico on weed sprinkled with steroids and dipped in formaldehyde, then aged for 12 years and smoked slowly while throwing back tequila shots.

Simply put, it's f*cking awesome!

Here's how I see it ...

Pros:
  • User accounts come with blogs.
  • User accounts come with a music player (embeds to user blog; plays a single song). Not sure how this works. The translation wasn't the greatest.
  • Other actions (paper, rock, scissors )
  • More travel venues.
  • More time travel venues.
  • Way More clothing options. Pages and pages more, in fact
  • BAPE Store. 'Nuff said.
Cons:
  • The selection of avatar skins tone is severely (and understandably) limited to pale to suntanned options.
  • Less hair options for male and female avatars.
  • Less eye options for male and female avatars.
Neutrals:
I took some screen caps!

Note: The giant avatars are part of a April Fool's Day command perk. By typing /big into the chat line, you can grow your Pigg avatar to Godzilla-like proportions on April 1 only. Similarly, /min will shrink you down to the size of a mouse. Careful where you step!

Attack of the 50 Foot Picos

This morning the official blog announced that the compartment-sized user rooms would be bigger.

As with so many things in life, it's all about perspective.

Those who log on today will find that their rooms look larger because they are smaller. April Fools! Very clever.

Type /min repeatedly in your chat line and you will become mite-sized.
