I'm Dreaming of a Pico Christmas

Well, we are now a mere 15 days away from Christmas, and Pico's celebration is still going strong. Today, they've released a couple more updates to brighten up your holiday. Or darken it, depending on how you feel about certain things *cough*Premium Gacha*cough*. Oh, my apologies. I still have that terrible cold from last week.



The 2nd weekly item has been added to the Daily Christmas Gacha. What's the new item, you ask? Why, it's none other than the "Can't Wait to See What's Inside, Christmas Sock." Remember when I recently made a comment about them running out of names for their items? This certainly doesn't do much to prove me otherwise! It's extremely straightforward, though, so I'll give them that. If you want this item, make sure you play now before they are all taken away and hung by the chimney. Yes, groan all you like, but I had to say that.



What's that? Another Premium Gacha, you say?! No, it can't be! Sarcasm aside, I think many people saw this coming from a mile away. The theme for the new Premium Gacha is "White Christmas," which you can find in NYC Downtown. Initially, I wasn't impressed with what I saw from the previews.



But, after viewing some of the items up close in various rooms, I noticed that there are quite a few nice decorations and clothes in it. If you happen to have extra gold weighing your pockets down, I don't think it would hurt to at least spin once or twice. And, speaking of NYC Downtown, the Broadway Boutique was stocked with 3 new room decorations.





By the way, if your family or friends ask why you didn't buy them any presents this year, be sure to tell them "Pico took all my money away! It's their fault! I had to spin the Premium Gachas! " They'll understand... or they'll look at you like you're crazy and ask "Who's a Pico? And what's a Gacha?!"

The next couple 'updates' weren't blatantly mentioned in any of Pico's blog posts, but rather they are subtle things I happened to notice while playing today. First of all, if you've been ringing, you might've seen that the bell has now been decorated:



We all know how tedious ringing can be, so at least this will keep it interesting for a while. Right?

...right?

The other update involves the entire game screen. Remember how you had to constantly click on those little black arrows towards the lower right corner of the screen to pan around? Well, that's old news. Now you can simply click anywhere within the game screen, drag it wherever you please and let go. I think this feature is particularly helpful if you are zoomed in and/or decorating your house.

How-to: Walk on water with butthead ☆ in Pigg

The lovable butthead ☆ (Pico ID) sent us a photo of herself walking on water in Pigg with an exuberant letter. With buttie's help can you figure out how to walk on water as well? I've tried it myself ... but I just can't seem to get it.

Guys! Look!

After 30 minutes of a lil' Japanese girl trying to explain to me how to do it, finally ... Ican walk on the water!! I guess if Jesus is my dad. LOL!

(I was surprised at first 'cause she could walk on the water and say 'hi' to me even though she couldnt speak English a lot :P )

I'll show you how to do it in 2 easy steps:

1. click on this fishing mat (orange arrow)
2. don't need to wait, hurry click this blue line!! (pink arrow)

If you're lucky enough, you can do it at first try ... but I did that like on the 12th try @_@ *wheww

How-to: prevent your Pico from being hacked

Lately I've heard many instances of hackers taking over popular Pico accounts and mucking with their stuff. Sometimes the hackers are generous and just mess up rooms, but most of them go as far as deleting inventory and changing passwords so that the owner can't log back into their Pico.

Yes, it's a sad world we live in. And unfortunately, Ameba can't do much to help you once it's happened. Why do hackers do it? Jealousy, spite, true evil, boredom... any reason really. Better to make it harder for them!

Don't let a horror story happen to you.

1. Never tell anyone your email login address or password.

You may trust the person you're giving it to, but you can't be sure that they aren't going to give it to someone else. Things spread fast around the internet, people!

2. Make your password secure.

Yes, it's hard to remember passwords; we have to remember SO MANY of them! But that's NO EXCUSE to make your password "abc123." Anyone can guess that and your account will surely be compromised. The strongest password will contain both capital and lowercase letters as well as numbers and can be as long as 15 characters long. For example:

ThisIsMyPassword8512635

(Don't use that one, okay? It's not mine, either! LOL)

3. Change your password (or e-mail address) frequently.

It's not a bad idea to swap out your password every few months or so. Lots of businesses that keep confidential information require users to change their passwords every 60 to 90 days in case of compromise. If you want EXTREME security, you can also change the affiliated e-mail address to your account.

4. Make friends you can trust.

This one is obvious, but just avoid shifty people. Don't let anyone trick you into doing something you don't want to.

If you've been hacked, contact Ameba immediately. The least they can do is give you access to your account again. (Maybe...)

Pico Cribs: Pinkerton's Picks #3

Have you been wondering "where in the world is Peggy Hill?!" If so, you probably aren't alone. When she's not cheating on Pico with Pigg, she's busy with work and a handful of other things. She has places to go. Things to do. Pie to eat. Because of her hectic schedule, she gave me the honor of doing a Pico Cribs update for today. Now, I know the title says "Pinkerton's Picks," but on behalf of Peggy I am going to start with a room that she stumbled upon. And what a room it is!



Room Owner: 13 -

Once you enter this room, you'll feel as if you've been transported to an actual winter wonderland. There's snowflakes in the air, benches to sit on while admiring the freshly fallen snow, and even a little cabin to keep our Picos warm. Oh, yeah... not to mention a giant tree! It's as if I can really smell the pine needles just by looking at it. Actually, that might be my pine-scented candle that I'm smelling, but you get the idea.



This is the 2nd room, which is just as nice as the first. I'm guessing that's some sort of ice castle in the corner, but I'll let you decide for yourself. Also, I like the fact that the giant gift box is placed directly at the entrance so that you end up being the present. Make sure you bundle up before heading on over to see these two rooms for yourself!

Room Owner: peach bi bo

Staying on the theme of winter for a moment, this room will kick off my picks for the week. Completely the opposite of the room above, this one is nice and simple... and you know how I'm a fan of simplicity when it's done right. I've always enjoyed peach's room for what it is, but now that some snow has fallen I figured this would be the perfect time to talk about it. I've come across a lot of trees on Pico, but very few have been as much fun as this one. Why, you ask?





That's why. If you decide to travel there now, though, you will notice the tree has transformed!



I can't wait to see what other tree variations peach has in store for us down the road. And yes, I just used the term "tree variations." Never thought I would.

Room Owner: Sanji サンジ

Hungry? If not, there's a slight chance you might be after seeing this room. Sanji サンジ has decided to satiate every Pico's appetite by creating a gigantic pizza. As the room description used to describe it, and as you can probably see, this has 3 different types of cheese... so much that it started dripping off the pizza and onto the floor. Mmmm, floor cheese.



Usually I like keeping pizza to myself, but this is one you'll want to share. Trust me.



... well, for the most part. Chike and I still battled over who would get the crust. The room description now states that there will be a "new dish every month," so make sure you head on over to get your share of the pizza before it's gone!

Room Owner: ☆~Ruby Moon~☆

Fan of pirates? Fan of ships? Fan of seeing how creative people can be by using blocks? If you said "yes" to any of those, I highly suggest putting on your best pirate gear and sailing on over to this room.



Yeah, the official Pico ship docked over in the Caribbean Seaport only wishes it was nearly as awesome as this one.



There's even a miniature ship (pictured above) where you can make the best pirate entrance since Captain Jack Sparrow sailed into Port Royal.

Boys! You too, can look cute!

Ooooo!!! All of these Christmas outfits have got me so excited! No matter what you're wearing, you're sure to look absolutely adorable. We've got Santa suits, reindeer and lamb themed outfits, Christmas sweaters... it's just too much to handle!

Peggy has been such a good girl this year, so she got to sit on Santa's lap and ask for some presents. And with the help of Santa's Elf Lovely Weather, we were able to send her wishes to the North Pole.
