700 AG Later...

Screen Shot 2012-05-04 at 10.29.54 PM

Just to prove that Ameba is taking advantage of the innocent youth of today, I spun the Ribbon premium gacha 14 times at 50AG per spin.

700AG blown in a matter of seconds and six ribbon cushions later.  I wanted to sock whoever decided to give out a ribbon cushion almost every other spin!  WTF?!

Did this happen to anyone else??  Did ANYONE actually get the blond wig?  I think not!

Ameba, the jig is up... you guys have hit an all time low.  Stop with the premium gacha already.

Chinese Gacha @ the Chaulin Temple room
Wednesday's epic server maintenance brings an epic to Pico.

Picos logging in today will find that, as we have come to expect, new things have been brewing during Pico's down time. Will you be excited about ...?

The Revamped Info Menu
You can now access the latest information posts in a more dynamic visual pop-up box. I'm sure this was developed to entice people to keep abreast of happenings in Pico.

The newly redesigned info box boasts eye-catching icons for each news item and stresses ease-of-use with the "Go To Area" button. As always, you can click the snippets of text to warp to the official Pico blog.

Did you tend to ignore the info box in the past ... and does this adjustment make you more likely to click and read on?

The Revitalization of the Chaulin Temple
New life is breathed into the Chaulin Temple with the introduction of  two new Gacha vendors - Premium Gacha for 50AG a spin and Gummie Gacha for 100 Gummies a spin.

Gummies Gacha contains those goodies from last springs Chinese Mystery Box campaign.

Premium Gacha is filled with wigs, costumes and props associated with characters from the Chinese classic story Journey to the West (西遊記 / Xī Yóu Jì), considered to be one of the four great novels in Chinese literature.
Journey to the West has a strong background in Chinese folk religion, Chinese mythology and value systems; the pantheon of Taoist immortals and Buddhist bodhisattvas is still reflective of some Chinese folk religious beliefs today. Enduringly popular, the tale is at once an adventure story, a spring of spiritual insight, and an extended allegory in which the group of pilgrims journeying toward India represents an individual journeying toward enlightenment. — Source: Wikipedia

From left to right (pictured above) the characters are Sha Wujing, monk Xuánzàng, "Monkey King" Sūn Wùkōng, and Zhū Bājiè.

Was it all worth the lengthy wait? You be the judge.

I covet thee.

Hot.

I find it a little... okay, I'm not gonna lie... a whole LOT geeky that I want to play the new chess premium gacha many many many times! I don't think I've really have felt this way about any other premium gacha.

The added incentive of getting the bonus room items once you've collected all 12 chess pieces is genius. I might actually have to buy gold...

UGH. SO JEALOUS!
Jealous

AYU!!! Why you gotta tease gurl---?

Ayu Ayu

Ayuhime is our own premium gacha junkie, for reals. Go to the Chess Field and get your BATTLE ON. For now I'll have to be content with my two pieces.

I'm Dreaming of a Pico Christmas

peggy and pinky 2

Well, we are now a mere 15 days away from Christmas, and Pico's celebration is still going strong. Today, they've released a couple more updates to brighten up your holiday. Or darken it, depending on how you feel about certain things *cough*Premium Gacha*cough*. Oh, my apologies. I still have that terrible cold from last week.

christmas gacha - stocking

The 2nd weekly item has been added to the Daily Christmas Gacha. What's the new item, you ask? Why, it's none other than the "Can't Wait to See What's Inside, Christmas Sock." Remember when I recently made a comment about them running out of names for their items? This certainly doesn't do much to prove me otherwise! It's extremely straightforward, though, so I'll give them that. If you want this item, make sure you play now before they are all taken away and hung by the chimney. Yes, groan all you like, but I had to say that.

premium gacha - white christmas

What's that? Another Premium Gacha, you say?! No, it can't be! Sarcasm aside, I think many people saw this coming from a mile away. The theme for the new Premium Gacha is "White Christmas," which you can find in NYC Downtown. Initially, I wasn't impressed with what I saw from the previews.

But, after viewing some of the items up close in various rooms, I noticed that there are quite a few nice decorations and clothes in it. If you happen to have extra gold weighing your pockets down, I don't think it would hurt to at least spin once or twice. And, speaking of NYC Downtown, the Broadway Boutique was stocked with 3 new room decorations.

By the way, if your family or friends ask why you didn't buy them any presents this year, be sure to tell them "Pico took all my money away! It's their fault! I had to spin the Premium Gachas! " They'll understand... or they'll look at you like you're crazy and ask "Who's a Pico? And what's a Gacha?!"

The next couple 'updates' weren't blatantly mentioned in any of Pico's blog posts, but rather they are subtle things I happened to notice while playing today. First of all, if you've been ringing, you might've seen that the bell has now been decorated:

christmas bell

We all know how tedious ringing can be, so at least this will keep it interesting for a while. Right?

...right?

The other update involves the entire game screen. Remember how you had to constantly click on those little black arrows towards the lower right corner of the screen to pan around? Well, that's old news. Now you can simply click anywhere within the game screen, drag it wherever you please and let go. I think this feature is particularly helpful if you are zoomed in and/or decorating your house.

How do you feel about today's updates? Did you spin the White Christmas Premium Gacha yet? Also, did you notice those last two additions (decorated ringing bell and screen-drag feature) before reading this post?

"Come sit on ol' Santy's lap little boy...."

Ooooo!!! All of these Christmas outfits have got me so excited! No matter what you're wearing, you're sure to look absolutely adorable. We've got Santa suits, reindeer and lamb themed outfits, Christmas sweaters... it's just too much to handle!
No really Ameba, stop with the premium gachas already XD
See all of those cute little presents under around my tree? Those aren't just for decoration, honey! They're gonna open on 12/24. Yay! I can't wait to see what comes out ^_^ (Don't spoil it, Pinkerton :P)

Peggy has been such a good girl this year, so she got to sit on Santa's lap and ask for some presents. And with the help of Santa's Elf Lovely Weather, we were able to send her wishes to the North Pole.

What did you ask Santa for this year? What is on your wish list?

This year I really want a Hello Kitty room humidifier. LOL! DON'T LAUGH AT ME!!!

Lots of love,
Ayuhime xoxoxo

Premium Gacha: Love it... Hate it? What's your take on it?

Premium Gacha

Personally, I'm not a real fan of Premium Gacha for two reasons, I'm not big on games of chance and I hate having two of the same item. Especially when it's something I dislike and/or clothing I can't even give away. There's a reason why there's no Premium Gacha in Pigg!

Don't get me wrong, I've spun Premium Gacha many many times. Tried my luck to see if I'd get that one or two items I REALLY want. There have been times I've been lucky but more often than not I end up regretting spending that 50AG or more. I get that Ameba Pico probably thinks we like the fact that we can spend 50AG and win a limited edition item, most of us probably do. I just happen not to be one of these Picos.

I MUCH prefer if Ameba would just sell us these limited edition items! Like what they did the first time around with the Alice Nine stuff. I would gladly pay more than 50AG for items I want if priced correctly. The thing is, half the time I hear Picos spending a ridiculous amount of gold trying to get that ONE item they really want and sometimes it's a fruitless game of luck. Regular gacha I get, we don't pay real money for Gummies. But I don't see much of a point spending gold that I have paid for with real dollars on two Premium Gacha spins to get a Monkey Figured Totem twice over.

Maybe I just have really bad luck... whatever the case, I don't like Premium Gacha.

Premium Gacha Overload

My dearest Ameba, (by the way, is it ah-mii-bah or uh-meh-buh? I say the latter)

I am very impressed with you lately. The features you have implemented to our beloved Pico game has really given Pigg a contender. And of course, the items that you're spilling out are lovely! But really, I'm going broke. And honestly, I can only do so many surveys before my brain turns to pudding.

I'm really enjoying dancing the Picorena on my epilepsy tiles, too.

Of course, I am very pleased with the cool new stuff! Don't get me wrong, but it's just... too much too soon; the opposite of too little too late... you get me? Look what you've turned me into! A junkie, that's right. JUNKIE! I'm scrounging for gold here!

Turkey Lurkey

Thanksgiverton

Hello, everyone! It's Thursday, so I think most of you know by now what this post will be about. I'm going to briefly discuss the most recent updates to grace Pico's servers. There isn't too much to talk about compared to last week, but I think it's enough to pique the interest of Pico players.

Now that Thanksgiving is merely one week away, they have finally kicked things into gear and released a few additions to coincide with the holiday. The first update you might notice is this:

update 11-18 info

The third hand hold item for November's Thanksgiving-inspired Daily Gacha. Make sure you win it soon, though, because this leaf will blow away (GET IT?!) in 4 days to make room for the 4th and final hand hold item. Don't know where to find it? Sounds like a personal problem to me. Luckily, I'm here to help you. Simply click on this icon at the bottom of your screen:

update 11-18 arrow

Which will bring this up:

update 11-18 gacha

Notice the leaf? That's what you are going for. I'm glad I saved up a cornucopia of gummies during the (now retired) recycling campaign, because I went through nearly 2000 to get it. What can I say? I'm a sucker for limited-edition items.

Friday, November 12, 2010

I can see it happening all over again.

Gacha Gotcha.

Gacha is pretty hit or miss for me. I cry at my bad luck sometimes! I'm so fearful of Gacha that I won't play the Premium Alice Nine Gacha even though I want a wig so badly. Knowing me... I'll get the ugliest item not once, but twice!

Anyway, the new Thanksgiving gacha items are making me wahh--- because I MUST have that feather headband! My spidey senses are tingling and telling me that this could just be a repeat of the goggled eyed glasses debacle. I wasted so many gummies and in the end... I was still without eye wear. -cries- So far, I've blown 2,000 Gummies and no headband... I didn't even get those damn hand held feathers! WHY AMEBA WHY?! Why don't you love me? huhuhuhu~

Gacha Gotcha Gacha Gotcha

I was waah-ing pretty loudly which got other Picos "gacha enraged" and they joined in. Wait! Why is Pinky crying?! He's wearing the damn thing! -huffs-

I WANT A FEATHER HEADBAND OR THE NO GACHA REVOLUTION IS ON!

In other unrelated news:

Birthday.

Thank you everyone for making me feel so special on my birthday. I am still all smiles from all the kind and lovely messages and comments I received.

SO MUCH LOVE! Mwah mwah!

AYUHIME 2.0 / Stargazer

Change is good. You shouldn't be afraid of change.

I'm announcing Ayuhime's change.
Introducing Ayuhime 2.0~
Inspired by Ayumi Hamasaki's new do, of course~

Anyway, onto more relevant (and probably more interesting) news...

THERE'S A NEW PREMIUM GACHA ZOMGGG! Yes, Alice Nine has invaded Pico again with their lovely, sparkly and fancy Japanese clothes. Look at all of the pretty things you can get!

Just who is PS COMPANY anyway?

*ahem* I managed to take a few spins and received all but one wig ...

I'm not quite fond of them XD I think I'll try later for the clothes ...

Regardless, make sure after you spin the Gacha that you take your turn to rock out on stage! Chikemuri, myself, Pinkerton, and Peggy just couldn't help ourselves ... We are stars, baby!

So let's take a listen to "Stargazer," which is the reason for all this Alice Nine hubbub.

I like it, actually. :) Shou has a great vibrato. XD Quite catchy~

Lots of love,
Ayuhime xoxo

I read the news today, oh boy...

skeletons

Greetings, everyone. Pinkerton here on this cold (but sunny!) Thursday. My reference to The Beatles aside, there's a ton of Pico news to talk about. Instead of rambling on and on as per usual for me, I'm going to get right down to business. Oh, and by the way... keep a lookout for the return of my Celebrity Sightings feature later tonight. I know it's been a long time since I've updated with that, so hopefully you wont be disappointed.

The first order of business we have to talk about today:

Devilish Halloween Gacha 2

A new premium gacha! Just when you thought Pico had enough things to take money away from us, they come out with yet another. The theme this time around is "Devilish Halloween Gacha." For a list of some items you can win from it, check out the official Pico blog. If you are feeling lucky and still have a bunch of gold stashed away, you can play it by visiting NYC Downtown.

Holy Updates, Batman!

Hello, Pico friends. Now that I've cooled down a bit from rant week, I decided to write up a quick little post talking about some of the new additions which were implemented to Pico over the past week or so. You may have noticed one already, but there's a couple which I don't think everyone is completely aware about yet. Let's get started!

Here's a question for you. Have you ever seen something that you wanted to buy, but you weren't entirely sure if that hat/shirt/watch/etc. would look good on your Pico avatar? I think we all take that chance with buying items we're unsure of, and there's at least one purchase we made which we all regret...

huge mistake

Yeah, I see you laughing over there. And, honestly, I don't blame you. Anyways, I'm glad to announce that there's a new feature which let's you preview the items before you buy them! I remember saying a few days ago how this would be a neat feature to include, and here it is. I'm beginning to think the higher-ups at Ameba Headquarters are spying on me.

To try it out yourself, simply click on "Shop" at the bottom (or travel to a location that has some items you want). At first, things look normal.

catalog order 1

But once you click on something...

catalog order 2
catalog order 3

... you get to actually see the article of clothing on your avatar. Just note that you can't try two things on at once, though, such as a shirt and some pants. Oh, and another thing. Because some people want to get a better idea of how the clothes will look without layering it over the clothes they have on already, you may start to notice a bunch of naked Picos roaming around.

nakerton

Don't worry. They are just previewing the items. I hope.
