Insta-Party in Pigg!

Copico's room.

She's the life of the party, every time she warps to me I give it about two minutes before her loyal posse shows up. Look how kawaii everyone is! WHY do Pigg players seem to have so much more personality and spunk when compared to Pico players? Is it because we're running around with mostly Japanese people in Pigg and they're known for enjoying showing off their street style? (Want proof? Check out the Japanese magazine FRuiTS and it's counterparts.) Is it because Pigg players are older and wiser, having already made all their fashion boo-boos in their youth they now know how to dress cool? Or could it be just simply the fact that Ameba Pigg offers more clothing and accessories?

I DON'T KNOW.

Deprived of Clothings?

Yes, you heard that.

First of all, I'd like to wish all those ladies a *late*.... Happy International Woman's Day!  <3

And back to the subject. It's already March and we still have the winter clothes. Nope, no Spring clothes even though MANY of us already despise winter.

The coats are still being sold, the boots are still being worn. Isn't time to switch to the 50's (in Fahrenheit of course!)?

These fashion statements enrage me. Engrage me to the point of using a meme.

And as I said, the boots are still being worn. Isn't it March, people!?!? We should be out frolicking in the fields of butterflies and candy canes, and pretty little daisies. I guess Pico is being realistic, and saying "Well, it gets only up to 50 in early March". But, I do not approve.

It's ironically hot.

Pico staff, I am awaiting some spring/summer clothes.

Huggles and kisses,
Ora18

A Warning About Hackers:
On a side note: I have heard from Caмbria that there is a hacker lurking on Pico. He/she is hacking the rooms of the top 30 Pico rooms. I just wanted to make this side note so you guys can be safe.

Caмbria and I have both locked our rooms to be safe. I advise you guys to do the same, maybe not lock it so no one can enter, but just lock it so only your friends can enter.

You must agree that it is better to sacrifice a few rings rather than sacrificing a few clothes, AmebaGold money, room decor items, etc.

I think that the March 10th server maintenance is basically for finding who is the hacker, and stopping them.

Stay safe, guys! <3

What To Spend Tokens On

Hey! It's Ora again!

I hope you guys are having a marvelous week! Mine is OK, but it is filled with schooling and many tests. Anywho ...

I always have the hardest times to find something to buy with a Token! I wanted to create this post for the many struggling people on Pico that constantly look for something to buy with them little coupons.

If you want to buy something for your room ...

You should go to Ikeya in the Jokamachi room (to me, this name seems like a joke on the world wide Ikea furniture store!), in case you want to buy some little thing like a wardrobe or pretty table, or maybe some flowers.

Maybe you would like some clothing? I would say, go to NYC Downtown. They have very nice clothing stores and shops. I personally like Rinarina... even though she has nothing good enough to buy for Token ... hahaha! But maybe if you have a few extra AmebaGold you can buy from her! (And also Shibuya is good ... ;D )

At Shibuya

Picture of Rinarina. Sorry that it's the catalog pic., a fellow
nudist would not move. >3>

But all in all, if you're looking for something new - the basic option is to go to Shop (the Shop order catalog).

Happy March Everyone!

Huggles and Kisses!

Pico in Color

Spring Fashion.

Does anyone remember the Colorful Series clothing, Ameba Pico's answer to the simplicity and affordability of American Apparel-style clothing essentials?

Each month in Beginner's Park and the World Community Parks, the orange RO80: Type G robot vending machine was stocked with an array of clothing item sets that were available for purchase in 2 colors for a limited time:
  • Tanks
  • V-neck t-shirts
  • U-neck t-shirts
  • Newsboy caps
  • Headbands
  • Simple pants
  • Short pants
  • Simple skirts
  • Camis
  • Sneakers
  • Low-heeled pumps
Items were priced from 500 to 1,800 Gummies each. Picos who had saved up could easily afford them - even very new players could snag a few items if they had completed 30 or so of the easy Star Book challenges. Otherwise, accumulating Gummies through the daily clothing change, props, rings, and sharing/eating food was a simple enough task to accomplish in month's time to afford a few items.

I always felt that the unisex Sneakers and the Headbands for girls were the most practical and good-looking items. The Newsboy caps just never seemed to fit on the head quite the way I like it.

I have to admit, I didn't catch on the the usefulness of Colorful Series (I just ignored the information posts on the official Pico blog) until Peggy snowed off her Sneakers and admonished me to buy some. I missed some great colors because of my ignorance. :-(

The Colorful Series campaign ran from April (pink and sky blue), May (red and blue), June (orange and yellow), July (white and gray) and  August (purple and dark gray) of 2010.

Colorful Series items have not been available since the end of August 2010 - 5 months and 29 days ago from today's date (that's 15,724,800 seconds, or 262,080 minutes, or 4368 hours, or 26 weeks)! For now, Pico players are resigned to receive Colorful Series items randomly through regular Gacha as well as through Mystery Box gifts (typically the "Alice" boxes) which are now available through the Ameba Gift, Chocolate Pico and other blogs that use an exploit in the gift-giving system designed for Facebook users to provide gift links.

Fashion.

Will the Colorful Series ever return? Perhaps in April - just over a month away - to mark a year since the campaign began.

It would be nice to have Colorful Series items available the whole year through.

Ameba, can you: (A) add 12 more colors to the Colorful Series palette or (B) offer 1 color each month with your existing color options so that the options run year-long? I've still got some colors that I need to collect.

I don't know about you guys, but outside of the Pico realm it's hit below minus 35. I've struggled to combine my cutest layers and still remain snuggly throughout the cold and harsh winter.

Peggy Hill and I got together to throw winter up your wonderland.. just like old times :) welcome to... the winter fashion issue! We have each created five looks. Don't be afraid to cozy it up... you can be warm and still live in style and luxe.

Rant Week: Day 1 - Inventory Woes

Header: Rant Week
Fashion

Hello Pico Friends!

I, Peggy am delighted to kick off Picostyle's RANT WEEK! For one week only your fellow Picostylers will be moaning and groaning for your entertainment about everything Pico that drives us just batty!

So to get this party started... lemme tell you about my love for fashion. I love love love all things I can wear, layer, snuggle my body in. Accessories, wigs, clothes... and of course... SHOES! I needs to have it all... and true to my real-life self, Peggy needs to have it all as well.

Check out several of my looks:

Fashion Fashion Fashion

Up until about maybe two months ago, I was a very happy Pico hoarding all things cute. You see, if I like something I will buy it in multiple colors. Just in case you know? I like options! Well, this has come back to bite me in the ass. Two months ago I maxed out my inventory! That's right, I used all 300 slots ...

Rant Week. Rant Week.

I really feel there should at least be an option to expand your inventory if Ameba isn't going to offer unlimited space. I totally get that maybe it's a server space issue or what not but if Pico residents are willing to pay extra whether it be in Gummies or Ameba Gold ... PLEASE GIVE US SOME SORT OF INVENTORY EXPANSION!

Lately, I find myself crying as I delete items to make room for all the new goodies that Ameba is releasing ... Pico fashion is finally slowly catching up with Pigg and I'm really sad that in order for me to be able to keep up with the times I gotta delete what may someday become Pico vintage wear :( I feel it's kinda a blessing and a curse that Gacha gives out clothing. I mean I love when I win an item that I normally would overlook but if there is going to be an inventory cap maybe they should do away with clothing prizes and just FYI: deleting doubles does not lower your inventory count!

Rant Week.

So there you have it ... that's my rant. Ameba, stop being stingy! Gimmie more inventory space!!! -cries-

Alice Nine?

I, Peggy Hill, admit that I sometimes live on my own planet and this being the case as of recently... I had no idea that all those fun items for sale at Paul's Shop was a tribute to this Visual Kei alternative band. Anywho, I finally youtube-d Alice Nine and I'm all for cute musical Asian boys in crazy fun outfits and loves makeup!

Unfortunately, I'm a bit too lazy to do surveys to get gold to buy any of these nice items. I'm still drooling over the hat Gem Rock bought :( Don't be like me... there are only a few days left to purchase these items!

Sigh...

Clothes Encounters

Wow, is it Thursday already? No, really. I'm asking you. Is it? Okay, I thought so. Time sure flies when you are wasting time... er, I mean... having fun on Pico! As usual, Pinkerton here with another FANTASTIC update [/billymays]. For all the fans and/or supporters of my "Celebrity Sightings" feature who may be wondering why I haven't done another, don't worry. It will be making a return sometime next week. And now for something completely different.

We all know that clothing is a major aspect in the Pico universe. The only ones who would disagree with this statement are the nudists, but they are few and far between these days. The types of clothing we wear on Pico (as well as our facial features, of course) gives our avatars their own sort of "identity" and helps differentiate us from others. But, as you play...

CE1

You may eventually run into people with the same exact outfit as you. When this happens, cries of "b... but... I thought I was a unique snowflake!!!" can be heard over the hills and far away. You must admit, though, that there are other times when you see someone and think to yourself:

thinking
"Hmmm... I have those clothes, too..."

The September Issue!

An introduction from Peggy: "As you know, Gemmy and I love fashion in Pico... well if you haven't guessed it... we're actually big clothing whores in real life too! September is a big month for us... we'll both go out and stock up on all the fall issues of our favorite fashion mags. Vogue is a must! Anywho, we thought it would be fun to do our own fashion spread so here it is! We hope you guys enjoy!"

We present to you ... our own "September Issue!"

Men's Fashion Week

Greetings Party Picos!
Normally when we feature street style.. our focus is usually on the female form. However, here I can prove men can act as a clothes horse too. I scouted all of Pico and shot only the most crazy and innovative of styles.

Of course if we were to vote a #1 male style icon, I'd still have to vote for Catero!

New High School Uniforms!

For us North American's summer break is still in session, but Pico already has us thinking of back to school. To celebrate the return of the new school year they've released some lovely crisp white shirts and colourful ties !

I'm far too old for high school but I've found that it works wonderfully as business wear

What is Visual Kei?

You don't know how many times I've pulled up someone's Pico profile and there is mention of Visual Kei... and me being me, I've put off looking it up for this long cause I'm lazy :X I thought it was some sort of Japanese rock group and I was close! For those who are just as lazy as I am it's actually referring to fashion! Peggy loves fashion... Visual Kei or "Visual Style" seems to be taking Pico by storm.

Big hair, crazy makeup, music, costume clothing, lady boys?! Sign me up! I'm finally getting the whole Gothic Lolita LOVE so many Picos seem to be diggin' on. It's heavily influenced by Visual Kei. So there you have it... Visual Kei in a nutshell. I totally get it now and I might have to try my own Visual Style look very soon.

Pico. Why?!

Oh no you didn't!

Why Pico? I know what you're doing...

Fashion.

Tempting us with your Outdoor Trekking Boots!

Fashion.

Bringing back big hair and giving us suggestive tees. -winks- X marks the spot baby...

Fashion.

Basically making sure we all become lil hoodlums! The non-violent fashion coveting kind.

Fashion.

I'm onto you! ...and yet. I still spend and at night I sit in my pool of clothing and cry. WHY PICO?! Why must you make me so fabulous?!!
